Mya Adriene Byrne is a poet, songwriter, and performer based in New York City. As the daughter of a rabbi, and as someone who transitioned publicly as an already-established artist, she brings a unique perspective to the world of advocacy, and tirelessly supports her community and allies. Her poetry has been published in The Advocate, she’s won several awards for her songwriting, and has opened for such artists as the late Levon Helm. Learn more about Mya at www.myabyrne.com

After interviewing Mya on WFDU-FM, Ron Olesko wrote in SingOut.com: "Mya openly, honestly and articulately helped to educate us about the issues facing transgender people. Mya's music also reveals her experiences and struggles and offers insight."
